With most Christians the power of the spirit are prominent. They fellowship in the spirit and act according to divine commands from Almighty God. They hold the Scripture to be authoritative. Since Pentecost they have been continually blessed with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. By this awareness comes overwhelming experiences which are at times accompanied by heavenly visions. As they live according to the life-giving spirit, their utterances are inspired. Being led by the spirit, they walk in the spirit and are full of life and vitality.

Alexander Pope (1688 – 1744) was an 18th-century English poet, best known for his satirical verse made this famous statement, “To err is human; to forgive, divine.” It must never be thought that those who walk in the spirit are not quick to forgive. Like Pope, they do realize that life entails forgiveness for which there are divine and sacred blessings.

Community Spirit

The power of the spirit brings about unifying bonds. These correlate with the interactions of believers with other persons during their lives. These relationships are elevated to the level of divinity sealed with a bond of friendship. Some followers of the way, marry, and form lasting bonds with their spouse. But as members of the church, they may devote themselves to pastoral outreach. They will come to exemplify what's ideal between the liturgical center and the periphery of worshipers. There will be a natural osmosis between the church's hierarchy and its parishioners.

In the life of the church much thought goes into the role of the sacraments. Every attempt is made to enhance family life. Young people therefore are exposed to Godly standards concerning what it means to date and be happily married. Christians values are perpetuated as the foundation on which to build relationships inside and outside the church's community.

The Messianic Age

The power of the spirit has ushered in the Messianic Age. It brings in its wake the inspiration of the Gospel. It's the new age of blessings that are bestowed on every believer. Because we're a new creation in Christ, we're inspired by the spirit. This spirit we experience fully in our daily walk. Through our industriousness the church will benefit from our talents. Most believers will experience the outpouring of faithfulness that are now a reality through these lights in their midst. It's not unusual to hear Christians describe with hopeful joy that it feels like heaven on earth.

George Bernard Shaw (1856 – 1950) who was an English playwright and co-founder of the London School of Economics observed, “Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine and at last create what you will.” The Messianic Age is much more than our imagination. It's a superb gift which has been freely given to every man, woman and child, because they should open their heart to the Lord.

Harvest of Men

Our salvation is guaranteed. It's what God has completed on the cross. This state is the seed of divine life open to all who will seek and find Him. It starts with the circumcision of the heart, frees us from the liberation from legalisms, and it's a gift of charity. While we live, we'll have renewed encounters with the Risen Christ. As holy people we'll be defending the traditions of fidelity in a broken world. Moreover, as baptized Christians we'll be the natural followers of Christ.

Og Mandino (1923 -1996) an American author who wrote the best selling book The Greatest Salesman in the World encouraged us to, “Always do your best. What you plant now, you will harvest later.” Be sure to sow good seed for it's promised your harvest will be plentiful. Or, be fishers of men for the Lord, because you're assured your catch will be abundant.
